As a kid, in the 50's & 60's, my mother made boterkoek for Christmas and my sister has since revamped (made easier) a recipe with questionable amounts/directions but the recipe is full of almond paste, almonds and lotsa butter. These bars are a bit different but give me that yummy goodness between holidays. So glad I took the leap and tried them awhile back. They are now on my list. Thankk you!
