Not what I expected. The almond butter did not start until about 1/3 into cutting it in to slices. Also, the bread was plain currant bread, but to be fair that was what was advertised. The bread was a bit to airy for me. In Holland one would get a whole lot more almond butter inside the loaf.

Will stick to finding someone who sells a better product. Might just go back to buying Weihnachtsstollen with the almond inside as the Dutch version's on this side of the pond are a bit conservative on the almond butter.

I love this bread. I do not live near any Dutch communities, and I am too lazy to make it myself. I have to limit myself as to how much I can eat each day because I could gobble the whole loaf in one day.

The taste is good. However it would be nice if the almond-paste was noticeable by the second slice. It was too far in, before it appeared. I actually thought it was missing after a couple slices and not finding the almond paste.
